Joomla is a fantastic piece of software and once you know how to use it, it's very user friendly. Certainly Joomla 1.5 has taken a huge step forward in usability. But for someone new, certainly for someone who never used a CMS before, it can be quit overwhelming in the beginning. We all had the same feeling the first time we installed Joomla: where do I start? Well a good start of course is to learn the basics. So if you are already familiar with Joomla, you can stop reading now (really!). In this article I'll explain the difference between the 3 types of extensions for Joomla: components, modules and plugins.


Template ChooserYet another version of the Template Chooser has been released. This one contains a workaround for the issue in the Joomla core file application.php (more info on this issue in our FAQ).  This means it is no longer needed to patch the Joomla Core to make the module work.

Template Chooser - Joomla 1.5 module

Version 3.0.0 of Template Chooser, our most downloaded Joomla 1.5 module, has been released. A new major release, which means there is a new feature. This is the feature which was requested by quit some users: the option to store the choosen template in a cookie.

Ulti Reflection - Joomla 1.5 plugin
Yet another update to our Joomla 1.5 plugin Ulti Reflection. The old release only worked on content items (articles and components). The latest version now works on modules also. I have to give credit here to Sandra who had enough patience to test this until it worked.
